Fox cull may be needed to save the curlew.

The National Parks and Wildlife Service are to hire a specialist ranger to protect the curlew in bogland areas. It is suggested that gun clubs will play an important role in tackling foxes and magpies.

It is estimated there are only 150 breeding pairs left in Ireland at present. (Source : Farming Independent 11/04/17)
